Your name: Kayci Graham and Ali Bolster

Facebook URL: facebook.com/notsobillionairegirlsclub

Instagram name: instagram.com/notsobgcunnamed-1

Where are you located? Richmond, VA

Tell us a little about yourself:

Kayci: As a fashion merchandising major, I aspire to be in fashion show production or own my own lingerie store. I have an obsession with online shopping…more like an addiction. A typical snapshot of my day would be me jamming out to Lana del Rey cuddled up with my laptop, working on our blog.

Ali: My athletic roots have made me the unique combination of fashionable and sporty. I often find myself torn between going to the gym and taking off my thoroughly planned outfit or socializing and displaying my creation for the remainder of the day. I also love to draw, paint, or simply create things.

unnamed-4When did you start your blog? January 2014

Why did you decide to start blogging? We felt that a blog would be a good way to get our names out there and both demonstrate and practice our fashion-related talents. The blog was also a way for us to publish our creative styling techniques to the young fashion world.

 unnamed-5

Where are your favorite places to shop in RVA? The two of us tend to vary in how we style items, but together our favorite places include American Apparel, Need Supply Co., and RVA thrift shops.

Top 3 favorite blogs to read?

Kayci: “…cos it’s The Bee’s Knees,” “River City Chic,” and “Song of Style

Ali: “Frsh Squeezed,” “Mr. Kate,” and “The BLVD Paradigm

How would you describe your personal style?

Kayci: Feminine grunge with a focus on intricate accessories.

Ali: Tomboy/androgynous, street style. sat spotWhat has been one of your favorite experiences blogging has lead to? The two of us were at a social event and a stranger began to express his admiration for us. We were puzzled at first until he identified us as the Not So Billionaire Girls. The fact that we were being recognized and acknowledged for our hard work meant a lot to us. We love our followers!!

If you could give any advice to other bloggers what would it be? You never know what you can do until you try! We always had the idea of a blog in the back of our minds but finally taking the initiative to create our vision was the biggest and most important step. Overcoming your fear of failure will always lead to success.

Where are you located? Richmond, VA (for now! I’m applying to grad school in the UK for the fall.)

Tell us a little about yourself: I have a BA in Creative Writing from Longwood University and moved to Richmond a year after graduation for a job. Right now, I work from home as a freelance writer so I have lots of time to play with makeup.

When did you start your blog? July 2013

unnamed-1

Why did you decide to start blogging? I started blogging about makeup because my boyfriend got tired of hearing me talk about makeup so I figured I’d just write it all down in a blog instead. I also wanted to create a blog that talked about buying tons of makeup and doing great makeup on a really small budget because while a lot of beauty bloggers do “drugstore makeup looks” every now and then, all of us can’t realistically spend $19 on a tube of lipstick (as much as I would love to be able to.)

Where are your favorite places to shop for makeup in RVA? Ulta, Target,  and Etsy. I’ve got my eye on some Indie brands on there that I’m DYING to try. I wish I could say somewhere a little trendier.

unnamed-2

Top 3 favorite blogs to read:

– My Subscription Addiction (mysubscriptionaddiction.com) makes me want to subscribe to all the beauty boxes ever.

– Essie Button (http://www.essiebutton.com/). I love her blog because of all of her product reviews. She also crossed the pond to the UK so I love seeing UK brands that I’ll be able to buy while I’m over there.

– A Beautiful Mess (http://www.abeautifulmess.com/) because I love their DIY ideas.

How would you describe your makeup style? I wear a lot of black and a lot of makeup. I’m currently obsessed with wearing bright/dark colored lipstick and bare eyes. I also cannot live without black liquid eyeliner.

If you could give any advice to other bloggers what would it be? Ha! Don’t stop blogging for 6 months at a time like I do. Whoops!
